| Starting Colts - Colts are started at Perfect Circle Horses with an emphasis on the Natural Horsemanship approach. I use an extensive program of groundwork focusing on freeing up the feet, softening the horse laterally and ensuring that the horse is relaxed before progressing to a new level. Colts are worked in the round pens both on foot and from another horse. All colts' feet are roped. Colts are first ridden in a halter and then progress to either the snaffle or hackamore. Early rides emphasize moving freely and in a relaxed frame. The colts are ridden in the round pens, barn, arena and as soon as possible out on the benches and mountains. As the colts are ready, lateral work progresses, and then basic maneuvers and collection. They are taught to stand quietly for mounting and dismounting. I have been specializing in colt starting since 1984.

Horses Re-schooled - The approach to re-schooling a horse having problems is very similar to the starting process. Careful analysis accompanies each step to determine the root causes of the problem(s). The owner is highly urged to be part of the process to ensure that both halves of the partnership come through these changes together.

| Reined Cowhorse Training - I have become involved in training and showing in the exciting and versatile sport of reined cowhorse in the last ten years. I serve on the board of the M.R.C.H.F and organize and run the Madison County Stock Horse Show. I have had success showing my own and clients' horses regionally. I use a training program that uses a lot of the principles of Natural Horsemanship mixed with the principles of performance horse training. I try to keep the horses in my show program physically and mentally healthy by riding them out as often as possible. I try to have them physically and mentally prepared to show by traveling with them as often as possible and giving them a well rounded foundation in my arena, cutting pen, and sliding track.
